The 35 Sexiest Designed Websites you’ve Forgotten, part 3
August 16, 2007 by leonardortizLogoMaid steals logo from SimpleBits
August 16, 2007 by leonardortiz“History is repeated” and LogoMaid.com is at it again. This assembly line for cheap, non-original logos appears to have taken the new logo from SImpleBits, modified the shape slightly, and tried to pawn it off as their own. If you would have some free time feel free to read a pretty long discussion which takes place on this Flickr page between designers and someone who appears to be involved with LogoMaid.

May 22, 2007 by leonardortiz“When green design is usually discussed, most people think of buildings, products or even cars, but what about packaging? Shouldn’t magazines, business cards, brochures and websites be green?” Yes, indeedy, they should.
35 Things Web Designers Think & Say!
May 21, 2007 by leonardortizThis is the funniest, but most true post I have ever seen from a web designer talking about working with clients.
# I am not your host.
# I don’t have a clue why your computer isn’t working.
# Make up your dang mind, is it design one, two, or three.
# I can’t start building your web site until you let me know what you want.
# Your design will be done when you pay me.
# No your site will not go back up until you pay your bill.
# You don’t own the design until you pay me.
# There are no such things as FREE updates.
# If you say that you want me to just design the site however I think is best, trust my judgment and stop telling me how to design your site.
# I cannot read your mind! Throw me a freaking bone.
# I am not getting paid to write your content.
# That is just filler text.
Design Your Own Home
May 17, 2007 by leonardortizArchitects are great! Good profession and many of their buildings are just marvelous but what to do if you want to design your own home by yourself? In this case you will need to become a designer (I really doubt that you can be an architecture without special education). The article below does not discuss how to be a designer but how to plan and design your own house without the help of the professionals.
Web Design Process: from the first step to the last one!
May 17, 2007 by leonardortizA detailed overview of the complete web design process, from client consultation through design implementation into a fully functional coded site. Full images also shown for each step also shown.
The article is really great though it covers only one of the all methods possible. I’m not sure that it can help someone as a guide to the process of web design but it’s a good reading and cab serve as a source of inspiration for the retrospective review of your own experience.
Business Card Design.
May 17, 2007 by leonardortizA business card can be not just a piece of paper but… Something else actually.

I’m not saying that this business card is the best, actually it’s probably not the best one as it’s almost impossible to dial the number unless you remember it. But the design is very original so maybe someone is to play with the card till it remember the number and a little bit more…
Yoga Patented?
May 17, 2007 by leonardortizThe United States government has issued 150 yoga-related copyrights, 134 patents on yoga accessories and 2,315 yoga trademarks. There’s big money in those pretzel twists and contortions — $3 billion a year in America alone.
Though the original article is written in poor English it has received about 500 diggs in total, so I suggest that you will digg this one if you feel like support this movement. In case you want to make thing clear about the situation I recommend that you read NY Times’ A Big Stretch by SUKETU MEHTA.
53 CSS – Techniques to Make your Life as a Web Designer Easier
May 7, 2007 by leonardortizIt is hard to overestimate the value of CSS when it comes to web design. There are lots of tricks and tips on the Web about it but Smashing Magazine is probably the first site to gather the most valuable of them. Though any more or less experienced web designer may argue about what CSS tricks are of most value the Smashing Magazine list is just marvelous and… helpful especially for the beginners.
